General
What areas do you serve?
Pacific Security Fence South operates in both Northern and Southern California. Our Southern California office is based in Yorba Linda (Orange County) and serves the greater Los Angeles area, while our Northern California operation covers the San Francisco Bay Area, Central Valley and Central Coast. If you are not sure whether you are in our area, just call us.
Do you do commercial and residential fencing, or just one?
Both. We are a full-scope fencing contractor — commercial, security, industrial, government and residential — plus automatic gates, access control and direct material sales. The same team that secures a state facility also installs backyard and HOA fencing.
Can you bid off a set of plans?
Yes. You can meet us on site, or simply send us a set of plans. We bid strictly per specifications or help you develop the right solution, and we return a budgetary number for your bid in 24–48 hours.
How do I get a quote?
Call us, or use the contact form to tell us about your project and (optionally) attach drawings or specs. Northern California: (877) 899-9492. Southern California: (714) 272-9542. Email: mark@pacsecfence.com.
What makes you a "security" fence company?
Security is our specialty, not an afterthought. We design perimeters to deter, delay and control access — anti-climb mesh and ornamental steel, razor and barbed-wire toppers, hardened gates, turnstiles and electronic access — and we have delivered them on some of the most demanding sites in California, including state correctional facilities.
Do you sell fencing materials without installation?
Yes. We sell materials direct — galvanized pipe, chain link by the pallet, portable panels, slats, gates and hardware — to contractors, builders and property owners running their own installs.

Questions by fence type
Security Fencing
What makes a fence "high security"?
High-security fencing combines an anti-climb, anti-cut infill (such as welded mesh or high-security ornamental steel), increased height with toppers like razor or barbed wire, tamper-resistant fixings, and hardened gates and access points. We specify each element to the level of threat the site faces.
Can you match a specific government or institutional specification?
Yes. Much of our security work is bid strictly per specification for public and institutional clients. Send us the plans and spec section and we will bid it exactly — or value-engineer alternatives if you ask.
Do you secure the gates and entry points too?
Always. A perimeter is only as strong as its openings, so we pair the fence line with hardened swing or slide gates, turnstiles, bollards and electronic access control as a single coordinated system.
Commercial Fencing
Do you work from architectural plans and specifications?
Yes. We bid strictly per specifications for general contractors and developers, and we can also help you develop the right solution if the design is still open. Send a set of plans and we will turn around a budgetary number in 24–48 hours.
Can you coordinate with our general contractor and schedule?
Absolutely. With a strong background in commercial construction and project management, we sequence our work to your schedule and coordinate with the other trades on site.
What types of commercial property do you fence?
Offices and corporate campuses, retail, warehouses and distribution centers, industrial sites, parking and storage yards, and mixed-use developments — across both Northern and Southern California.
Chain Link Fencing
How long does a chain link fence last?
A properly installed galvanized or vinyl-coated chain link fence routinely lasts 20+ years. Hot-dip galvanizing and PVC coatings protect against rust, and the simple, robust design holds up to weather and impact.
Can chain link be made private?
Yes. Privacy slats woven through the mesh — available in several colors — block sightlines and add wind screening, while color vinyl coatings give a cleaner, more finished look than bare galvanized.
What height should a commercial chain link fence be?
Most commercial perimeters use 6–8 ft, while high-security and industrial sites go taller with barbed-wire or razor toppers. We help you choose the right height and gauge for the site and threat level.
Ornamental & Wrought Iron Fencing
What is the difference between wrought iron and ornamental steel?
True wrought iron is hand-forged and mostly used for custom restoration today. Most modern "iron" fencing is welded or extruded steel with a powder-coat finish — stronger, more consistent and far more rust-resistant — which is what we install for the vast majority of projects.
How secure can an iron fence be?
Very. Beyond standard ornamental grades we install ultra-high-security systems such as Ameristar Impass II, engineered with anti-climb geometry and concealed fasteners for government and critical-infrastructure perimeters.
Does ornamental iron rust?
Modern systems are hot-dip galvanized and powder-coated, which dramatically slows corrosion. With basic care a quality ornamental steel fence stays attractive and structurally sound for decades.
Industrial Fencing
Do you handle large-scale industrial perimeters?
Yes. We have fenced solar farms, distribution facilities and large industrial sites — including long perimeter runs with heavy gates — and we plan the logistics so a big job installs cleanly and on schedule.
Can you meet utility and infrastructure specifications?
We bid strictly per specifications and routinely build to the codes that govern utility, energy and public-infrastructure projects. Send the spec and plans and we will bid it to the letter.
What fencing is best for a solar farm or substation?
Most energy sites use heavy-gauge galvanized chain link or anti-climb welded mesh with barbed-wire or razor toppers, paired with large cantilever or slide gates for equipment access. We match the system to the site's security and compliance requirements.
Automatic Gates & Access Control
What type of automatic gate is best for my site?
It depends on your space and traffic. Slide and cantilever gates suit sites with limited swing room or heavy vehicle traffic, while swing gates work well for residential and lower-traffic entries. We assess the entry, traffic and security needs and recommend the right gate and operator.
Can you integrate access control with our existing system?
Usually, yes. We install keypads, card readers, telephone entry, mag-locks and turnstiles, and we coordinate with your security or IT provider so the new gate and access hardware works with your existing setup.
Do you install turnstiles for pedestrian control?
Yes. We install Boon Edam turnstiles and pedestrian access systems — including high-security and government-grade units — paired with mag-lock gates and emergency egress hardware.
Specialty Fencing
What counts as "specialty" fencing?
Anything beyond standard chain link, iron or wood — welded-wire and mini-mesh anti-climb fence, expanded-metal screening, panic-hardware emergency exits, turnstiles, ball-stop and enclosure systems, and purpose-built barriers for unusual sites. If it has an unusual requirement, it's our kind of job.
Do you install emergency exit gates with panic hardware?
Yes. We install egress-rated gates and emergency exits fitted with panic hardware so a secured perimeter still meets life-safety code for the people inside it.
Can you screen or enclose equipment and utilities?
We build welded-wire and expanded-metal enclosures, rooftop and ground equipment screening, and secure cages for utilities, generators and storage.
Glass, Cable & Stainless Rail Systems
Is frameless glass fencing strong and safe?
Yes. Glass fencing uses thick tempered (toughened) safety glass engineered and anchored to meet structural and safety codes. If it ever breaks it crumbles into small, blunt pieces rather than sharp shards — and we install it to the relevant pool-barrier and guardrail requirements.
What is cable rail and where is it used?
Cable rail uses tensioned stainless-steel cables between posts instead of pickets or panels, giving a clean, nearly invisible barrier. It's popular for decks, balconies, stairs and view-oriented properties where you want protection without blocking the view.
Do glass and cable systems work outdoors near the coast?
They do — we use marine-appropriate stainless hardware and finishes so cable, spigots and railings resist corrosion in coastal and poolside environments across California.
Fence Repair & Maintenance
Do you repair fences you didn't install?
Yes. We repair chain link, ornamental iron, wood and specialty fencing regardless of who installed it — from a single damaged section to a full perimeter restoration.
Can you service automatic gates and operators?
We do. Automatic gates are mechanical systems that need periodic service; we troubleshoot and repair operators, hardware and safety devices, and offer planned maintenance to prevent failures.
Do you offer maintenance programs for commercial sites?
Yes. Scheduled maintenance keeps commercial and industrial perimeters secure and code-compliant, catches wear early, and extends the life of your fencing and gates — ask us about a program for your property.
Residential Fencing
What's the best fence for my yard?
It depends on what you want it to do — privacy, security, keeping pets in, defining the line, or boosting curb appeal — and your budget and style. Wood and slatted chain link give privacy affordably; iron adds elegance and security; glass keeps views open around pools. Call us and we'll help you choose.
Do you install fences for HOAs and communities?
Yes. We work with homeowners and community associations on perimeter, common-area and amenity fencing, matching community standards and coordinating the installation.
Can you add an automatic gate to my driveway?
We can. We install automated residential swing and slide gates with the operators, safety devices and access controls to match — coordinated with your new or existing fence.
Farm & Ranch Fencing
What kind of fencing is best for livestock?
It depends on the animals and the acreage — field/woven wire, chain link, and pipe-and-rail each suit different stock and uses. We assess your land, animals and budget and recommend a system that contains the animals and holds up to the pressure.
Can you fence large acreage and rough terrain?
Yes. Long perimeter runs and uneven ground are routine for our crews; we plan the layout, gates and materials so the fence follows the land and installs efficiently.
Do you install gates for equipment and vehicle access?
We install farm and ranch gates sized for tractors, trucks and equipment, plus stock gates and secured entries for outbuildings and yards.
Fence Material Sales
Can I buy materials without installation?
Yes. We sell fencing materials directly — galvanized pipe, chain link by the pallet, portable panels, slats, gates and hardware — to contractors, builders and property owners running their own installs.
Can you price materials from my plans?
We can. With a strong background in commercial construction and project management, we'll review your plans and return a budgetary material number for your bid in 24–48 hours.
Do you sell temporary / portable fencing?
Yes. Porta-panels (free-standing portable fence) are available for construction sites, events and temporary perimeters, along with the bases and accessories to set them up.
